Australian Standard/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1754

 

Australian Standard/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1754 AS/NZS 1754 (short for stands for the Australian and New Zealand Standard 1754) is usually identified by the the Australian "5 Tick mark". The sticker for this standard may look the same or similar to the image pictured to the left. The Australian and New Zealand Standard is considered one of the most stringent standards for child restraint systems in the world.

 

British Standard

 

British Standard

British Standards; BS 3254 for adult seat belts, forward-facing child safety seats and child harnesses; BS AU185 for booster cushions; BS AU202: Specification for rearward-facing restraint systems for infants, for use in road vehicles. This standard sticker may look similar to a “heart” shape. 

  

UN/ECE Regulation No.44 (European Standard)

 

UN/ECE Regulation No.44

UN/ECE Regulation No.44 (short for United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Regulation No.44) commonly referred to as the "European Standard" may be identified by a sticker on the restraint that is perhaps blue or orange, maybe even red.


FMVSS213 (American Standard)

 

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213 (FMVSS213)

FMVSS213 (short for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213) is usually identified by the "S" mark of compliance. The sticker for this standard may look like a yellow sticker with a black “S” on it. 


SABS (South African Bureau of Standards)

 

SABS SABS (short for South African Bureau of Standards) approved child restraint systems are not one of the accepted standards in New Zealand and are therefore illegal to sell.
