Is there actually much SAFETY difference between these seats? I am looking at one for Miss 12 weeks for when she outgrowsher capsule.  Apart from the extra padding, what does the Meridian offer over the Royale for an extra $150?

Hi justkaty

The biggest difference, safety wise, is the adjustable head rest in the Meridian AHR. Of course, the Royale is still a perfectly fine, perfectly safe car seat although the Meridian is said to perform the best in side impacts then any others in the S&S range. I'll try to attach a picture to show what the difference is (royale on the left, meridian on the right)

Thanks Bonnie, Have just bought the royale. It was on sale at Baby Factory and just couldn't justify the extra seeing as it is the last baby.  Am really happy with the royale even though bubs won't go into it for 3 more months.  Bonus also was the one i got was only manufactured in March this year so is really new.  Thank you so much for all your carseat advice, both here and on TM Smiley
