Yup, I've looked in to loads of other RF Swedish seats. I have a Britax Two Way Elite I imported from Norway over a year ago now. We use our two Brio Zento's as main car seats now and the Britax Two Way Elite is a "spare" (i.e. for the babysitter).

What would you like to know about others? There's quite a few, though some only rear-face to 18kg. About a handful rear-face to 25kg.

And what do you mean by "score"?

Awesome thanks Bonnie, what i might do is make the seat backmore upright rather than moving the seat forward anymore, otherwise no adult will fit in the front, even Mr5 will be a squeeze

Thanks Bonnie - I'm not in Auckland, I'm in Palmerston North, but if I do get a frontier I'll find a tech to check the install - hopefully they'll assist despite the legal status of the seat...

But your figure there about incorrect installation caught my eye - I'll be going to get my existing installs checked next week!

Thanks for providing such a helpful service Smiley

You're welcome!

A bit on the tech bit though.. do keep in mind that it will be difficult for the fact that a) most likely the technician would not have experience with your seat and b) quite a few do lack the expertise and skills sometimes needed to install seats. But of course, I'm always an email away!

Good luck!

hiya Smiley definitely do not have the front passenger seat shoved hard up against the back of your rear-facing royale. Britax (Safe-n-Sound) do prefer that you have about an inch between the back of the car seat (rear-facing) and the back of the front passenger seat. However, in cases where that physically just is not possible, it is acceptable for it to *touch* the front passenger seat, but as above, should never be "shoved" hard up against it.

wealso have a 2003 falcon.  we can get miss 4 months in either her s&S royale (RF) or her capsule.  Mr 5 (20kgs and 115cm tall) in a half booster in the middle (full belt) and Mr 3 in a infa vario booster with harness behind the driver.  It is a very tight squeeze and hard to get the seatbelts on Mr3 & Mr5 but it is do-ble

Hi Bonnie,I  have just installed my newS&S royale to my car to try out on mis 4 months. I am wondering if the passanger seat can touch the carseat in the back?Or if i can push it hardup against the seat. My car is small and the carseat sems so big that my passanger seat is now very far forward!

I can't really comment on the legalities, as you know yourself it is technically illegal. And I can't really comment on the safety of the seat - as it's an unknown really without access to crash test documentation and so forth. However, my biggest concern would be going to the trouble of getting such a seat, and not knowing how to install it properly. Considering easily 70 - 80% of car seats have at least one installation error, misinstallation is an easy thing to do. Though, if you did live in Auckland I would be more then happy to help in that regard Smiley

Thanks Bonnie - I'm looking at the Brio Zento for my 5 month old  Smiley

The other thing I'm considering out of desperation is importing a Britax Frontier from the US.  I realise it may not be legal, as I don't think they meet NZ standards, but other than that, what are your thoughts on this?

Of course I'm not asking you to recommend anything illegal, just to comment on the safety of such a seat.  I mean, are the US standards such that this would be a bad idea, safety-wise?
