Hi there,
I've just installed a S&S meridian (rear facing) in preparation for the birth of my first child. The head end seems to have a lot of side to side movement, or at least available movement to it, the base is secure against the seat. Is this normal? Or should I be worried and try to do something about it?
Thanks for any advice or help.
Hi khhast
When you check for movement in a car seat, you always check at the *belt path*. The belt path is the area where the seatbelt runs through (or where the isofix points are if you are using latch/isofix). If it moves more than an inch side to side or back and forth at the belt path, then there's a problem. However if there is quite a bit of movement at the HEAD of the seat, then that's completely normal and fine.
